90% of the visitors, on the weekend we stayed on, were either large loud family groups or trashy party teenagers blasting music from their cars or stereos. The quiet hours were not at all respected. The campsites themselves are not at all private and despite us choosing what we thought would be the most private spot, we did not enjoy our experience at all. The bathrooms were surprisingly well kept, but no showers. There is a nice swimming hall in the river just down the road from the campground. However, be mindful of the narrow and curvy road from the main road to the campsite, since it accommodates two-way traffic. The campground itself can be easily found off the main road in the Sequoia National Park. Perhaps, if it was on any other day, we would have enjoyed peace and quiet in the nature. You may also like Potwisha and Buckeye Flat campgrounds.It is very difficult to subjectively rate this campground, since we stayed there only over the weekend. Kayaking and whitewater rafting area also popular on the Kaweah River. Fishing is also popular on the South Fork of the Kaweah River. The hikes are multi-mile uphill climbs through oak and evergreen forests to get to trail destinations. The campground is located near two park trailheads: Ladybug and Garfield Sequoia Grove trails. South Fork – Area Recreation & Activities Groceries and restaurants are available in Three Rivers. Amenities include vault toilets (water not available). Each site also has a table, food storage locker, fire ring and grate. The primitive and remote campground is accessed via a rough dirt road.Ĭampsites can accommodate tents (no trailers or RVs). South Fork Campground has 10 tent-only (first-come, first-serve) campsites and is located next to the South Fork of the Kaweah River.
